Testimonials

“We booked James who was absolutely incredible. Fantastic communication from James prior to coming in to lead on two sessions for our Year 12s. James was very lively and offered excellent advise to the students prior to their exams. James had the ability to capture everyone’s attention and keep them at the edge of their seat throughout! The tips and content was very practical for the students – would definitely recommend.”

Aneesa - Teacher at Brentford School for Girls

“James really can speak! The talk for our pupils was not just informative but also remarkably engaging. James' personal anecdotes and experiences added a relatable touch, creating an atmosphere where students felt empowered and comfortable sharing their thoughts. This session went beyond awareness, leaving a lasting impact on the importance of mental well-being. Would highly recommend”

Louise Hales - Head of Upper Years at St Augustine’s Priory

"James provided two, expertly-delivered, thought provoking and thoroughly engaging workshops to our student community around the topic of mental health; his natural blend of authenticity, nuanced knowledge and strategic advice was pitched perfectly for our international student body".

William Bowry - Senior School Principal at Dwight School London

“Excellent delivery. Very engaging and such common-sense advice that everyone can follow. So many students struggle with their mental health that sometimes it is overwhelming and difficult to support them but with these practical steps I feel confident to at least offer some advice. Thank you!”

Elaine Cassell - Pastoral Co-Ordinator at Barking Abbey School

“James delivered 2 informative, relevant and good-humoured talks to 150+ pupils at Ibstock Place 6th Form. We liked his simple yet effective strategies targeting 8 ‘Daily Choices’. We will be more than happy to invite him back next academic year!”

Rachael Hemmings - Director of 6th Form at Ibstock Place School

“James’ talk was engaging, informative and educational. Students were able to learn useful and insightful tips that they can use when working on their mental health. We would recommend James to all other 6th form colleges.”

Amanda Foster - Head of Year 12 at St Richard Reynolds College

“James was incredibly engaging and informative for our Year 12 cohort. His clear presentation style with humour and charm really allowed our students to leave with all the important messages. Thank you very much.”

Anu Warrier - Deputy Head of 6th Form at Frances Bardsley Academy

“Mental health is such a tough topic to make ‘fun’ ‘interesting’ and ‘engaging’, yet James managed so so well! It was thought provoking, relatable, hard hitting and left my students so full of inspiration.”

Kiran Kondal - Deputy Head of 6th Form at Northwood School

Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you are unsure which program options are best for your school or you would like to discuss further, please fill in our enquiry form or send an email to admin@choicesmentalhealthprograms.org.uk and we can arrange a phone call to discuss further. Our program facilitator, James, will be happy to run through each of the program options in greater depth and answer any questions you may have to help you make a decision.

  • Yes a school can. Although our student program is designed to be and is most impactful as 2 presentations, the 1st presentation is still effective as a stand alone presentation, and teaches students the foundational strategies and habits to look after their mental health.

First time schools will sometimes do this, to get a feel for the program, delivery and student reaction, before committing too booking the 2nd presentation.

Another common occurrence is schools will book the student program, then after seeing the benefits that their students attain, will book the parent / teacher programs, or purchase the mental health curriculum.

  • In general we deliver our programs to an entire cohort. For example, all of Year 12, all of Year 13, or all of 6th Form. If a school would like to have us deliver the program to a smaller classroom audience, this can also be arranged.

  • No there is no limit on audience size. As long as the facilities can appropriately handle the number of people, a school can have as many audience members as they would like.

We have presented to audiences as small as 10, up to audiences as large as 500.

  • Our schedule fills up quickly each year, so in the case of schools requesting the same date and time, the booking goes to whichever school booked first.

  • Yes he does and he will bring his DBS certificate with him to every presentation.

  • Yes our program facilitator has completed the mental health first aid (MHFA) course.

  • An invoice will be emailed through to the managing staff member upon completion of the program.
